Looking at semble.so

When I first saw semble.so, I thought it was just a bookmark collection site like https://pinboard.in/ - that's not what they're going for. They're tagline is:

Semble is a collaborative space for mapping the web, connecting ideas, and building shared knowledge

The bookmarking feature is solid. They've got an extension for it that opens up a nice dialog to drop notes in.

It's not for me, though. The top thing that shows up when you visit your bookmarks is a set of recommendations. Makes total sense given the nature of the site. That feels like hitting a news feed. Or, at least stuff that I need to parse to figure out if I want to add it.

Super interesting idea and seeing collections that folks put together is gonna be interesting (like a playlist of articles).

While I had the wrong expectation (that it was just a bookmarking tool) and it's not for me, I love seeing the exploration of ideas. Even though I don't expect to use it much directly I'll absolutely be keeping an eye on it. Check it out to see if you like where they're headed.
